As part of Queensland’s ongoing development of new coal seam gas (CSG) fields and LNG capacity, Australian construction, mining and services contractor Theiss were awarded a $1.8 billion contract by coal seam gas producer QGC for construction of gas compression facilities and associated works for the QCLNG project in the Surat Basin. This contract comprises the construction of all eighteen (18) Field Compressor Stations (FCS) and four (4) Central Processing Plants (CPP).
PowerEarth Technologies Pty Ltd supporting Theiss to perform soil resistivity testing and Earthing Installation Verification testing for each FCS and CPP site. Specifically this involves soil resistivity testing for all sites; Fall of Potential and Continuity testing for each FCS site; Current Injection testing, plus Step Potential, Touch Potential, and Continuity testing for each CPP / EEA site.
Presently this is an ongoing project, scheduled to be completed by November 2014.
